Points of Interest in Something I Watched 1
So continuing my viewing of new series for the fall meant I would inevitably come across The World God Only Knows. After watching the first episode, there were 3 things that came to mind.
First, the whole premise begins with a protagonist who used dating sim tactics to try to get girls to fall in love with him. At first, this seems somewhat absurd, but then I get to my second point. As with any piece of fiction, the dating sim here, there has to be some basis in reality for it to actually work as a piece of fiction. While it is unlikely to work 12 or so times for someone with his reputation, it is within the realm of possibility. Finally, the fact that the girls forget his courting attempts seems especially cruel. He’s probably going to end up with some deep emotional attachment to all of them, but they won’t remember him at all. If it does make him turn to insanity, that will be all the better.
